Happy 2013!

Hello, my friends...my job is still great, loving every minute of it. I have also started sorta seeing someone...very early stages. Actually, he is an old friend, one of my first boyfriends when I was 14...yes, 14! The summer of 1965 is when we first met. So...it's been a long traveled road and we will see where it goes.

The kids are growing, my mom is still with me (she will be 91 on Sunday), I'm still a Harry Potter and Doctor Who geek.

I will leave for now.

Peace and out.

No, I haven't dropped off the ends of the earth...

I see that my last blog was in May...May...MAY???? Okay...no excuses...just moving forward. One of the things I've learned on my job is that my organizational skills aren't as good as I thought they were...I used to think I was organized but juggling client files and learning new processes has really shown me how much I don't know and how much I have to learn and makes me wonder if I will ever figure it out! I need to figure out a better system and stick to it! It also looks like we may be going through some structuring changes at work...I think they will be good ones but I'm going to have to make some changes in my work habits as I may begin working more from home. I can see the pros and cons of this arrangement. I like getting up in the mornings and getting ready and leaving the house. When I don't leave to go to a job, I tend to just become a bit lazy. So, if this does happen, I'm going to have to change my ways! I already know that I have to rearrange my apartment to set up some office space in my bedroom. I'll have to revisit a lot of things that I do and how I do them. But, that's all in the future...just have to wait and see! Time to turn in... Peace!

No...I haven't disappeared...just been busy!

Busy...busy...busy!

Yes, my life has certainly become busy. I planned on being really good about posting but noticed I haven't done so since February! AAAACCCCKKKK!

If anyone is following me, forgive!

My job is fabulous and takes so much of my time. I don't mind at all as I love what I'm doing and I learn so much. I usually stay after hours to work with Grace to learn. It is the best time as there are no clients or phones to interrupt and we can go over the documents I've prepared and she teaches as we peruse the paperwork I've completed for the day. I e-filed my first bankruptcy case last Friday! Of course, I forgot to attach something but that's the learning process. In the meantime, I discovered that one we had filed a few weeks ago was missing some information so I'm doing the amendment. If I hadn't been looking for something else in the file, it would never have been caught and that would have been a very bad thing!

I'm going to think about outlining what I want to write about each week and keep this up. Yeah, I know I said that before but I really want to use this as an outlet for some serious blogging...not just a hit-or-miss thing like it is now.

So...as I close the for evening...

Peace and out!

I'm still kicking!

Hello, everyone!

Yes, I'm still around...I just haven't posted anything here in a very long time!!! Time for an update!

Biggest news...I have a job! It was a horrible 5 months without work or income (couldn't get unemployment). But, I'm working and I'm loving my new job. I working as a paralegal for a small sole practitioner firm. I interviewed for this job 3 years ago and I'm finally here. I'm learning so much from Grace and everyone else in the office...the two law clerks and the other paralegal. Everyone has been patient with me but, I was thrown into the pot early and quickly!

Also, I've moved from my daughter's house and am living in a small apartment near her with my mom...yeah, my brother pulled a fast one and kicked my 89 year old mother out of his house two days after Christmas. Not fun! So, had to find somewhere to live, find the money for deposit and first month's rent and utility deposits...with no income. Thank God for friends...I'm so blessed...

Things are beginning to come together...I just have to really concentrate on some time management skills! I've worked a lot of extra hours and don't have as much time to mess around on my computer so I probably won't be here very often.

I am going to figure out a theme for this blog and try to really do some writing...like I said, that time management thing...we'll see!

Peace...

I'm still here!

Guh! I haven't posted in over a month! I really need to remedy that but today won't be the day.

I'm thinking of trying to make this blog a bit more organized and maybe have some content that is interesting and useful. I've been purging lots of files and papers and have run across some information that would be good to use in writing some articles to publish in this blog.

Therefore...I'm going to work on getting this set up over the next week or so (I still don't have a working computer at home so everything will be handwritten and then typed when I do have access to my daughter's computer). Please, God, help me find a job so that I can get my computer fixed!

I will be back...I'm still around...see everyone soon!

Peace!

Update time!

I haven't updated in a while and thought I would do so today.

Well, the law firm job fell through but at least they let me know...the receptionist job also was a no go but that's okay because it was really a long drive although I know that I would have loved working in that environment. So...now I'm waiting for a phone call on Monday about a possibility...we'll see if it works out.

The children have all been gone this weekend...the boys left Thursday evening to go visit with their mother and Rhiannon went back to her dad's on Friday...it has really been quiet! Kind of enjoying it, at least for a while.

The cold finally reached us...it was 74 on Thursday for Thanksgiving and 43 yesterday...yes, that is a 30 degree swing in temps in one day! LOL...gotta love East Tennessee!

We had two Thanksgivings this year. The first one was last Saturday, Nov 20. We've had visitors in town from LA and the UK...two wonderful gals that we met via the internet and our mutual love for all things Harry Potter! They vacationed in Orlando for a week and then flew up here to visit with us for a week as well. Sarah, our Brit friend, had never been to a midnight release (they don't do that in the UK) so we all went to the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Thursday night/Friday morning. It was a blast! After the movie, it was off to IHOP for breakfast...got home and into bed just before 5 am. Slept for a bit and then the girls came over and waited for Rhiannon to come home from school...she was so excited to see them both! Risie and Sarah had visited us for Thanksgiving last year so we had to do dinner again as they would both be home before the holiday this year. We had 15 people at our house on Saturday night for dinner! It was grand!

We had a family dinner on Thursday...just us and my mom...very quiet and quite nice...especially after all the excitement of company earlier in the week.

Today is football Saturday...watched UT beat UK for the 26th year in a row! Go Vols! After an extremely shaky start and agonizing October, the Vols are bowl eligible...it won't be a prestigious bowl but is more than many expected at the beginning of this year with the mess that Kiffin left us in after his quick departure in January. Dooley has done an outstanding job with a very young and inexperienced team. I can see great things for the future with this team.

The Vols basketball team won the NIT Preseason thingy in New York yesterday, beating Villanova in the finals...good game. I'm loving this team as well and look forward to seeing how they play the rest of the year.

Of course, my Lady Vols are playing in St. Thomas and one of my best friends is there. They've won both of their games and play again tonight. A good experience for the team and a fun trip to the tropics!

I'm out...Peace.

Maybe things are loosening up a bit...

I've had 3 interviews in the past few days so maybe things are loosening up a bit in the job market. I interviewed in a law firm yesterday and would totally love that job! Just have to hope they call me today or Monday.

Next week is going to be jammed packed with exciting events! Sarah and Risie will be here on Tuesday evening...will be tied up with them every evening plus they will be attending the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 with us on Friday! So excited!!!

We are also planning a pre-Thanksgiving meal on Saturday...they were both here last year at Thanksgiving and Sarah is really excited! Last year was her first Thanksgiving...we would love to make this a tradition that she come to the states every year in November!

Peace!
